Founder's Journey: From Idea to App in 9 Months
As a first-time developer, I learned Flutter, Firebase, and Gemini AI from scratch to build BrainStorm AI. Here is the 9-month journey of turning a personal frustration into a production-ready app.
Months 1-2: Learning the Basics
Mastered Flutter, Firebase, and Dart fundamentals. Built the basic task management and authentication features.
Months 3-4: Adding Core Features
Implemented the notes system, habit tracking, calendar integration, and real-time sync across devices.
Months 5-6: AI Integration
Integrated Google Gemini AI with 6 personalities, context-awareness, and voice-to-text summarization (AI Scribe).
Month 7: Team Collaboration
Built team workspaces, shared tasks, real-time chat, and role-based permissions.
Month 8: MindMeld Video Calling
Implemented WebRTC video calling with real-time AI transcription, analysis, and meeting summaries.
Month 9: Google Workspace Integration
Added one-click creation of Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides directly from within the app, with automatic folder setup in Drive.
